Steve Johnson, Senior Pastor

Pastor Johnson came to Oakwood in 1987 as an Associate Pastor. He was named Senior Pastor following the sudden death of his predecessor in 1990. He is a graduate of Grand Rapids School of the Bible and Music, and holds a Bachelor's degree from Cornerstone University and Master's degree from Moody Bible Institute. Steve's hometown is Fremont, Michigan. He and his wife, Beth, have been married for 33 years. They have two grown daughters and have seven grandchildren.

Bill Kiewiet, Associate Pastor

Pastor Bill came to Oakwood in 2008 and previously had served as Executive
Director of Alternatives Pregnancy Care Center in Kalamazoo. He holds a
Bachelor's degree from Cornerstone University and a Master's degree from
Grand Rapids Theological Seminary. He is a Professional Counselor and an
adjunct Professor at Cornerstone University in their Professional and
Graduate Studies. He and his wife, Melinda, have been married for 26 years.
They have three boys and one daughter.

Steve Surine, Student Ministries

Steve came to Oakwood in July 2009. He is a graduate of Grand Rapids
Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity degree in pastoral ministry.
He is also agraduate of Western Michigan University with a Bachelor of
Arts degree in Journalism. Before moving to Grand Rapids to attend
seminary, he was the Interim Director of Student Ministries at a local Bible
church. He also worked as a Youth Treatment Specialist at Wedgewood
Christian Services. He and his wife Jennifer have been married for 3 ½ years
